AI and Labour Markets
v2 vertical — roadmap commitment, not yet shipped depth.
Honest disclosure of where this stands today. The strategic assessment that landed in iter-311 recommended labour-markets as a strong MVP focus. Policy Window's actual built depth lives in frontier-AI regulation (see /wiki/frontier-regulation). Rather than overclaim a labour-markets vertical we don't yet have, we state the roadmap explicitly.

Hiring, workplace monitoring, automated decisions in employment contexts.

- AI-Driven Worker Displacement
Governance of AI as cause of labour displacement, retraining obligations, transition support, and just-transition frames. Distinct from `employment` topic (which is AI-IN-employmen…

2 · What's missing for v2
- Concept catalog: zero labour-economics concepts in the 32-concept catalog. Need at least 6 (automation-exposure index, task-displacement, AI-augmentation, algorithmic-management, worker surveillance, just-transition).
- Governance actors: zero labour governance actors in the 20-org catalog. Need at least 3 (ILO, OECD-ELS, DG-EMPL or BLS equivalent).
- Benchmarks: zero labour-exposure benchmarks in the 11-benchmark catalog (the existing benchmarks are all capability evaluations, not labour-market exposure measures).
- Debates: zero labour-specific debates in the META_DEBATES catalog (the 5 shipped debates are all frontier-safety controversies).
- Coverage cells: only thin coverage on the two labour topics above. Need backfill across ≥10 jurisdictions per topic with high-confidence citations.
- Subject editors: the editorial board (/wiki/editorial-board) currently has 0 of the 6 slots filled with labour-economics expertise.
3 · Promotion criteria
Labour-markets is promoted from v2 roadmap to v1-peer vertical when ALL of the following are true:
- ≥6 labour-economics concepts added to the concept catalog.
- ≥3 labour governance actors added to the organisation catalog.
- ≥2 labour-specific debates added to META_DEBATES.
- COVERAGE backfilled to ≥3 jurisdictions per labour topic with high-confidence citations.
- ≥2 named subject editors with labour-economics expertise joined the editorial board.
- At least one Coverage Games event has been run on the labour topics with ≥3 human classifiers.
This list is a checklist, not a deadline. When the conditions are met, this page becomes a peer of /wiki/frontier-regulation rather than a roadmap stub. Until then it stays honest about the gap.
4 · How to contribute
If you have primary-source expertise in AI-and-labour-markets and would join the editorial board to lead this vertical, see the recruitment section on /wiki/editorial-board. If you want to submit catalog content (instrument coverage cells, concepts, debates), see methodology §4 for the topic-determination framework and /wiki/find for the suggest-a-topic affordance.
